How We Have Helped
The Burckle Place Campuses - Burckle Place I, Burckle Place West and recently opened Burckle Place III have served 212 women experiencing homelessness since it opened in 2013. During that time, the program has provided comprehensive services to residents. In all, it conducted 685 workshops constituting more than 1,200 hours of instructional time on essential life skills topics, such as A Woman's Way through the 12 Steps, Beyond Trauma, Beyond Anger and Violence, budgeting, employment and leadership, women's healthcare, and more. As a result of these services, the vast majority of women (70%) maintained or exited to stable housing. In addition, residents who left the program had $1,930 in savings and $1,130 in monthly income on average, providing them with valuable financial resources to bolster their economic security. Perhaps most importantly, more than 85 percent of women who graduated from Burckle Place avoided any further homelessness on a long-term basis.
